TRACTION empowers young people in need and helps them positively engage with their communities, discover their talents and create their own future.
We understand that everybody learns differently and that some students don’t realise their full potential in a classroom.
That's why the TRACTION program offers young people the chance to participate in an alternative, action-based learning environment, while being supported by encouraging relationships, community and employment opportunities. |
ON THE ROAD TO A BETTER FUTURE
TRACTION provides programs that engage young people and support the development of practical skills, communication and broader life skills.
We help young people realise their own self-worth, find their purpose, re-commit to learning, begin defining their own career path, and become active and positive members of their community. We provide a safe environment where young people, with the guidance and support of mentors, learn new skills and put these skills into action through participation in real, tangible and meaningful learning activities. The TRACTION Bicycle Build, Small Engines and Motorcycle Programs provide the chance for young people to restore items donated by the community whilst being supported by volunteers who provide support and positive role modelling. For young people, TRACTION enables participants to restore, repurpose or customise bicycles and motorbikes while developing lifelong skills, experience and confidence across a wide range of disciplines. Our enthusiastic, hands-on approach to teaching and communication, coupled with a low student to mentor ratio means students are gaining the most out of their experience in an approach they can truly understand. The TRACTION program aims to impart lifelong skills and a sense of pride and achievement for young people to set them on a positive future path. |
