Celebrating the 2022 CEO Bike Build

Young people were leading the way, one bike a time, on September 9 at the Port of Brisbane.

Sandy Murdoch kicked off our 4th annual TRACTION CEO Bike Build at the Port of Brisbane on September 9 with some of our star TRACTION young people from Glenala SHS, Alexandra Hills SHS, Emmaus College and Villanova College. After a huge fundraising effort from our participating CEOs, we raised $146,362 which goes directly into scholarships for 60 more young people to experience TRACTION programs across Southeast QLD.

The annual CEO Bike Build is our young people’s time to shine and demonstrate their skills, getting on the tools to lead our participating executives through the process of building a bike. All the bikes built on the day are donated back into our TRACTION Bike Build program for more young people to rebuild and ride in future workshops.

A big thank you to everyone who supported and attended the event, our sponsors Port of Brisbane, Merlo and Chop Chop Changs, and most importantly - thank you to all our TRACTION young people who showed up, stepped up, and made us proud of your learning and leadership, well done!

Check out some of our highlights and hear what our young people and CEOs have to say. This is one of our favourite events in the TRACTION calendar and we’re already looking forward to next time in 2023!
